Classified as pre-Ming ancient celadon, this artifact was circulated to Hong Kong, China, previously held in the private collection of a veteran Longquan celadon collector based in Central Hong Kong. It includes original collection archives from an antique gallery in Kuala Lumpur and professional appraisal reports for East Asian ancient ceramics, with no modern reconstruction, added pigment or chemical fake patina modifications.Description:This powder-blue celadon arhat standing statue from the Yuan Dynasty Longquan kilns ranks as a top-tier ceramic sculpture masterpiece of southern Zhejiang Longquan ware, highly recognizable across the global ancient celadon collecting circuit and extremely sought after by elite celadon collectors throughout China and the United States. Hand-sculpted from native Longquan kaolin clay, the piece depicts a standing arhat atop a rugged integrated rock base with sophisticated layered craftsmanship. The arhat features a smooth bald head with unglazed raw clay facial carving, vivid expressive facial features: curved eyes, an open joyful grin conveying open-minded serenity, and full thick earlobes carved with concise, lively sculpting lines. He wears a wide-sleeved cross-collar monk robe with flowing, layered carved drapery folds, entirely coated in thick iconic Longquan powder-blue celadon glaze. The glaze is rich, translucent and soft lusterless, covered in an even lake-green tone with fine natural glaze bubbles, the signature glaze characteristic of Yuan Longquan production. One hand rises in a teaching mudra, the other holds a glossy ganoderma ruyi scepter; hands and feet retain the original unglazed clay finish with fine dry clay texture and authentic age wear. The rock base is carved with uneven craggy textures fused directly to the figure for one-piece firing. The hollow open base reveals hand-thrown spiral trimming marks inside, and the bottom rim bears consistent natural kiln rust-red staining on dense solid clay. Fully intact human-figure Longquan celadon statues dating to the Yuan Dynasty are extremely scarce on the antique market; most comparable specimens are damaged, heavily restored or modern slip-cast replicas. This untouched original Yuan powder-blue arhat sculpture preserves all authentic kiln firing traits and flawless condition, perfectly suited for long-term special exhibitions at Asian art museums in Hong Kong and New York, permanent private ancient ceramic collections overseas, and interior styling for Chinese zen tea rooms or vintage American oriental spaces to deliver the quiet, elegant aesthetic of Song-Yuan celadon art.
