Complete matching sets of this artifact are extremely hard to find on today’s antique market. It features a neat flat circular shape with tight-fitting interlocking rim, the lid locks perfectly onto the base without wobble. The lid adopts molded relief craft: a central treasure flower sits in the middle, surrounded by four symmetrical spiral butterfly floral clusters, enclosed by a border of linked bead patterns. The composition is full, balanced and luxurious, perfectly reflecting the grand aesthetic taste of Tang imperial society. The whole piece uses thick vibrant emerald green as background glaze, the floral patterns are filled with caramel yellow and creamy off-white glaze; the colors blend smoothly with soft gradients, the iconic low-temperature lead glaze feature of Tang Sancai. The outer wall of the box body is fully wrapped in green glaze, while the inner cavity and bottom are left unglazed, revealing raw coarse Tang pottery clay with dry porous texture and deep natural soil stains. Streaked green glaze drips along the base rim, accompanied by striking rainbow iridescence, a natural patina formed after thousands of years underground burial. This artifact boasts mature firing craft, well-preserved vibrant glaze colors and crisp intact molded patterns. It holds significant archaeological research value for Tang ceramic craftsmanship and high collectible appeal as a medieval cosmetic utensil, ranking as a top-tier standard specimen among Tang Sancai collections worldwide.
