It features a wide flared trumpet mouth, slender elongated neck tapering smoothly downwards, plump pear-shaped belly and a neat low ring foot. The whole silhouette boasts soft curved lines and perfectly balanced proportions. The exterior surface is fully covered with deeply carved interlocking floral motifs. The flower and leaf shapes stretch out naturally with sharp, clean carving strokes, creating distinct depth and layered texture. A band of upturned lotus petal patterns encircles the lower body as secondary decoration, forming a cohesive matching decorative layout. Olive-toned celadon glaze coats both interior and exterior, the glaze is translucent and soft with natural fine inherent crackles all over, a signature glaze feature of classic Yaozhou ware. The base is unglazed, showing grey-brown clay body coated with centuries-old natural soil patina, untouched original kiln-fired base condition. Yaozhou carved decoration represents the pinnacle craftsmanship of northern Song celadon production. This well-preserved Yuhuchun vase holds standard classic shape, crisp complete carving and flawless original glaze, perfectly showcasing the powerful yet delicate aesthetic of northern Song celadon. It is an invaluable physical artifact for researching Yaozhou kiln manufacturing techniques and Song flower arrangement culture, with outstanding decorative and collectible antique value.
