Measurements:Jade statue height 11 cm / 4.33 inches, wooden base width 7 cm / 2.76 inches, jade net weight 267 grams, Qing Dynasty from 18th to 19th Century, Category: Ming & Qing Jade, Primary markets: Singapore, Texas USACondition & Provenance:The entire Hetian white jade Guanyin is fully intact, free of cracks, chips or missing parts. The jade stone features tight, creamy and smooth texture with uniform pale white tone. Natural golden-yellow original russet skin is preserved on the rear side, presenting natural layered color without artificial staining. All carved details including facial features, robe folds and lotus branches remain crisp, no worn or chipped edges. The jade surface carries consistent soft antique patina from long-term collection. It comes with an original carved red hardwood base elaborately sculpted with lotus motifs, solid with no rot or splits, perfectly fitted to the jade carving. This artwork was once owned by a long-established Chinese antique collector based in Singapore, acquired in 2025 by a private Ming & Qing jade collection in Houston, Texas. It has been preserved long-term in a constant-temperature lightproof storage space, with no repair work, acid cleaning or secondary carving alterations.Object Description:This round-carved free Guanyin ornament is a fine craftsmanship piece of Qing Dynasty Hetian white jade, carved from premium Hetian white jade seed stone with dense, silky texture and rich natural luster. The Bodhisattva sits in a relaxed free posture leaning against a rock formation, delivering a gentle and serene aura. Her hair is neatly coiled, facial carving showcases soft merciful facial features with delicately carved eyes and brows. She holds a ruyi scepter in her right hand and a fully bloomed lotus branch in her left, layered lotus buds and leaves carved vividly, flowing ribbons twist elegantly around her body with fluid smooth lines. Natural autumn pear russet skin is reserved on the statue’s back; the artisan retained the raw stone skin to enhance the antique charm of the piece. The rock base is sculpted following the natural outline of the jade rough stone, with shallow floral carving on the lower section. The whole carving is completed in one unified creative process without redundant carving work. It is matched with a contemporaneous hollowed red hardwood base carved with three-dimensional lotus flowers and rolling waves, perfectly complementing the jade sculpture. Small-sized white jade Guanyin carvings are widely seen from the Qing period, yet this specimen boasts well-balanced proportions, intact natural skin, exquisite carving and an original wooden stand. It owns great ornamental value for display, literary collection value and traditional auspicious symbolism, ranking as a highly sought-after category among overseas Ming and Qing jade collectors with outstanding heritage and display worth.
