Dimensions:Mouth Diameter 19 cm (7.48 in),Height 6.3 cm (2.48 in),Song Dynasty,12th‑13th Centurycondition & Provenance:This yingqing bowl is structurally solid,no penetrating cracks, large chips or glued repairs.Fine old glaze crazing spreads all over surface, these cracks formed naturally over centuries, not caused by later damage. The rim carries faint russet unglazed band, that is typical trace from ancient upside‑down firing technique.Multi‑toned soil patina clings along rim from underground burial, all original excavation marks.Molded central peony and scattered cloud motifs on inner wall keep clear outlines, only tiny details get lightly worn by long burial environment.Exposed foot base shows dry firm clay, heavy dark‑brown soil stain and mineral deposits sit on base.No modern grinding,no acid cleaning,no glaze filling or artificial aging. This bowl belonged to a private early‑Chinese‑ceramic collector based in Illinois,USA,he specialized in southern‑China bluish‑white porcelains of Song era.He got this piece back in 1996 from a well‑respected antique gallery in Hong Kong.It was stored indoors under stable temperature for decades, harsh chemical cleaning was never done, all original burial patina stayed intact. It hits North‑American antique market recently as the collector restructures his holdings.Description:This large conical yingqing bowl was produced at Jingdezhen Hutian kiln,it represents classic Song‑dynasty porcelain that works for both daily use and display. The elegant flared conical shape features wide open rim, side wall tapers gently down toward small ring foot, wall curve flows smoothly, the thin profile fully shows minimalist subtle Song aesthetic.Large moulded peony blossom decorates inner bottom with layered curved petals, stylized cloud patterns scatter across inner wall, overall layout is open and well‑balanced.Peony stood for wealth and good fortune, super popular decorative theme on Song porcelains. The whole vessel is covered with signature Hutian yingqing glaze, pale translucent lake‑green tone, glossy surface filled with natural fine crazing.Clay body is thin and hard.Ring foot is unglazed, clay shows off‑white‑to‑grey hue with genuine burial erosion marks.Tea culture boomed in Song dynasty, conical bowls were extremely popular for tea and wine serving. This large‑size specimen retains crisp moulded patterns and beautiful original glaze color, with untouched excavation condition. It is a fantastic addition for Song‑porcelain collection and also makes wonderful decorative object with great historical and artistic value.
