拍品描述
/Condition & Provenance:Both pieces survive as a set, heavily encrusted with multi‑layer ancient patina including verdigris and earth deposits, original excavated condition.Thin bronze body has minor old edge erosion and losses,no modern restoration, replacement or chemical cleaning, all aging signs are authentic.Private collection from Chicago,Illinois. The set was acquired by the collector from Hong Kong antique market in 1980s,stored in private storage with minimal public exposure, passed down within the same family till today. Description:This pair consists of two functional bronze spoons dating back to Han Dynasty, used for food serving and ladling in ancient daily life. They feature slight design differences, one has forked terminal at the handle end while the other possesses straight long handle. The spoon bowls are broad peach‑shaped with shallow cavity, attached to slender thin handles.Casting style is simple and unadorned, typical for Han‑dynasty household bronze wares. The whole surface is covered by well‑adhered earth patina and green corrosion, keeping untouched excavated surface. The thin‑walled craftsmanship reflects bronze manufacturing technology of that era.Surviving complete sets of Han‑dynasty domestic bronze implements are relatively scarce, this group serves as valuable physical reference for studying ancient Chinese daily customs and dining culture.
