Dimensions: Rim Diameter 15.5 cm (6.10 in), Height 13 cm (5.12 in)Condition & Provenance: This censer is made of Jizhou kiln typical coarse beige‑toned ceramic body. The unglazed base retains authentic ancient wheel‑turning marks, original surface condition untouched, no acid washing or artificial polishing. The dark brown‑black glaze remains complete with nice glossy finish, only faint age‑related surface wear. All three original tiger‑claw feet are intact. No penetrating cracks, no major chips or restored sections. All applied relief ornaments were fired in‑situ without later additions or re‑glazing. Only gentle conservative dust cleaning has been done. This censer was once owned by a private collector based in Florida focusing on Song‑dynasty folk‑kiln ceramics for more than thirty years. He obtained this piece from a Hong‑Kong antique dealer in 2002. It was kept long‑term in climate‑controlled private display cabinet for study and appreciation only. It never appeared in public auctions or museum exhibitions. Freshly released from family estate dispersal, full provenance documentation is available upon request.Description: This three‑footed incense burner was crafted at Jizhou kiln during Song dynasty, widely used for incense burning, worship and household display in ancient civilian society. It features flared rim, constricted neck decorated with vertical combed lines. Relief moulded mythical beast and scroll ornaments are applied around neck and shoulder. The vessel has full rounded bulbous belly supported by three powerful three‑dimensional tiger‑claw feet, delivering solid and imposing stance. Base is unglazed with clear hand‑throwing wheel marks. Body is covered with rich variegated dark brown‑black glaze. Relief raised areas show thinner glaze revealing warm yellow‑brown body clay, greatly emphasizing sculptural depth. Jizhou represents one of the most prominent southern folk kilns in Song China, famous for applied decoration and varied glaze effects. This censer carries powerful silhouette and vivid applied details. The fierce tiger feet embody the bold, rustic aesthetic of Song folk ceramics. It is a fine authentic Song ritual object, well‑suited for specialized antique ceramic collection and interior decoration.
