拍品描述

Dimensions: Rim Diameter 9 cm (3.54 in), Height 8.5 cm (3.35 in)Condition & Provenance: This lidded jar is made of Longquan kiln grey‑white porcelain body. The unglazed foot rim bears genuine ancient rust‑red firing patina, all original age marks are well‑preserved, no acid washing or artificial polishing. The full‑bodied powder‑green glaze remains intact with soft lustre, only minor natural wear accumulated over centuries. The jar and lid are original matching set. There are no cracks, chips or restored parts. All lotus‑petal reliefs were formed during original firing, no post‑carving or re‑glazing. Only gentle conservative dust cleaning was performed. This jar was once in the private collection of a dedicated Southern‑Song Longquan celadon collector based in Illinois, who collected southern Chinese ceramics for more than thirty years. He purchased this piece through a Hong‑Kong antique gallery in 2003. After being brought back to United States, it was stored long‑term inside climate‑controlled private cabinet for personal study and appreciation. It never appeared at public auctions or museum exhibitions. Freshly released from family estate settlement, complete provenance documents are available upon request.Description: This lidded lotus‑petal jar was produced by Longquan kiln during Southern‑Song dynasty, used in ancient times to store incense, medicine or tea powder. The jar has nicely rounded full shape. Outer wall is fully decorated with raised upright lotus petals with plump crisp outlines. Its matching lid is also moulded with lotus‑petal pattern, topped by a small pearl‑shaped knob, the lid fits tightly onto jar body. The circular foot is neatly trimmed, exposed foot rim shows characteristic ochre‑colored rust red of Longquan wares. Thick velvety powder‑green celadon glaze covers interior and exterior evenly, presenting jade‑like softness. Glaze pools slightly deeper inside petal grooves, enhancing three‑dimensional effect of ornamentation. Southern‑Song represents the golden age of Longquan kiln, powder‑green glaze stands for its highest craftsmanship level. This well‑proportioned complete set carries refined lotus decoration and elegant soft glaze. It perfectly reflects the subtle, restrained aesthetic ideal of Southern‑Song celadon. It is a high‑grade authentic Longquan artifact, excellent for specialized antique ceramic collection and scholar‑table display.
