Dimensions:Height 3 cm (1‑3/16 in), Mouth Diameter 15.5 cm (6‑1/8 in); Song DynastyCondition & Provenance:Complete. Natural extensive crackle across the celadon glaze. Spur‑mark kiln adhesion remnants visible on the unglazed base ring; no chips, cracks or restorations. This Yue‑type washer originates from a distinguished private ancient‑ceramic collection based in Chicago, Illinois. It was acquired through a European antique dealer in the early 1990s and has remained within one private family estate, never previously offered for public auction.Description:This shallow circular washer features low‑set wall and six moulded dividing lobed partitions on the interior. It is coated overall with warm olive‑yellowish celadon glaze, characteristic of southern Yue‑type kiln production, displaying pervasive natural crackle texture. The base shows an unglazed central firing ring with residual kiln spur marks, revealing fine‑fired clay body. The lobed‑partition washer was a common scholar‑studio utensil during the Song period, used for water‑holding or serving. This piece has well‑defined lobed moulding, mellow glaze tone and authentic original kiln traces, representing typical folk‑style celadon craftsmanship of the Song southern kilns.
