Dimensions:Height 6.5cm (2‑9/16in),Diameter 11.7cm (4‑5/8in)Condition & Provenance:Alright, let’s closely examine this authentic Southern Song Jian‑ware hare’s‑fur tea bowl. This celebrated Song‑dynasty tea artifact has survived centuries without deep penetrating cracks,no major chip losses and no invasive restoration or glaze filling retouching. You may inspect the thickened rim, sloping bowl wall, glaze‑drip area and the thickly‑cut base ring;genuine soft age‑related abrasion and handling wear can be observed on the rim edge, brought about through generations of use and collection. All wear traces are naturally formed, there is no artificially applied fake patina. The interior and exterior are covered in classic Jian‑ware hare’s‑fur glaze:lustrous jet‑black glaze is overlaid with abundant russet‑gold hair‑like streaks radiating from centre toward the rim,the rim area glows in warm reddish‑brown tone.Natural fine crazing can be seen within the inner bottom glaze, along with minor firing blemishes which are original kiln‑formed features rather than later‑time damage. The glaze terminates above the foot ring with characteristic thick glaze‑drip lines;the exposed foot shows coarse granular dark‑reddish‑brown Jian clay with distinct rough wheel‑trimming marks and natural iron oxidation discoloration. No modern grinding, polishing or chemical cleaning has altered the original foot‑ring. This fine Jian tea bowl originates from a well‑known private Song‑tea‑ware collection based out of Portland,Oregon. The prior collector obtained this bowl from a respected Taipei antique gallery back in the early 1990s,it has been safely preserved in this single‑family private estate for more than thirty years and it appears on public auction for the very first time.Description:This classic Southern Song Jian‑ware tea bowl adopts the standard Jian‑zhan profile, with thick rounded rim, gently sloping walls tapering downwards to a substantial circular foot ring. The whole interior is dominated by brilliant hare’s‑fur glaze:countless golden‑brown fibrous streaks burst outwards across glossy black glaze ground, the streaking effect extends seamlessly onto the outer wall. The rim area is suffused with rich russet‑brown colour formed in the high‑temperature wood‑firing process. At the inner base, fine natural glaze crazing is visible beneath the shiny black glaze surface. The thick iron‑rich glaze flows down during firing and stops short of the foot ring, creating hanging glaze drips above the exposed rough reddish‑brown ceramic body.Jian hare’s‑fur tea bowls were the most highly‑praised tea utensils for Song‑dynasty whisked tea competitions, the distinct streaking glaze perfectly displayed the white tea foam. This is an authentic and highly collectible representative example of Song‑dynasty Jian‑kiln tea ware,
