Dimensions:Diameter 10.5cm (4‑1/8in),Height 5.5cm (2‑3/16in)Condition & Provenance:Alright, let’s closely examine this authentic Song‑dynasty black‑glazed tea bowl with incised phoenix‑floral decoration. This elegant Song‑period tea vessel survives intact without penetrating cracks,no major chip losses and no invasive restoration or glaze repair. You may inspect the rounded conical shape, the warm unglazed buff‑colored rim,and the densely incised interior imagery. The glossy deep black glaze retains fine scattered mineral speckles, exhibiting natural age‑related glaze wear consistent with ancient burial and long‑term handling. All surface aging traces are naturally formed, with no artificially applied fake patina or modern refinishing.Inside the bowl, finely incised lines depict a phoenix amid blossoming flowers and foliage, characteristic of southern Song ceramic craftsmanship. This fine black‑glazed bowl originates from a well‑known private ancient‑ceramic collection based in Los Angeles,California. The prior collector acquired this artifact from a respected Asian antiquities gallery back in the late 1980s;it has remained preserved within this single‑family private estate for more than thirty‑five years and appears on public auction for the very first time.Description:This Song‑dynasty black‑glazed conical tea bowl features a reserved unglazed buff‑colored rim.The interior is covered in lustrous black glaze, adorned with crisp incised decoration showing a majestic phoenix paired with blooming flowers and leafy branches. The phoenix, emblem of nobility and auspicious fortune,is rendered with meticulous detail in feathering and tail plumage.Conical bowls of this type were widely favored for tea appreciation during the Song period. This is a well‑preserved representative example of Song‑dynasty incised black‑glazed wares.
