Dimensions:Height 56cm (22‑1/16in), Width 45cm (17‑11/16in), Weight 24kgCondition & Provenance:Alright, let’s closely examine this authentic Ming‑dynasty partial‑gilt bronze seated Amitabha Buddha statue. This large‑scale devotional bronze figure remains structurally intact, without major cracks, deep losses or invasive modern restoration. You may observe its serene facial features with closed meditative eyes, dense spiral‑form ushnisha curls, gilded face, chest and hands, dark patinated robe surfaces delicately carved with scrolling floral borders, the swastika symbol engraved on the chest, and hands held in dhyana mudra seated in full lotus position. Traces of original gilding survive prominently on skin‑flesh zones, while robe areas bear deep aged bronze patina with natural wear and minor gild loss accumulated over centuries. Interior casting cavity shows original casting traces and residual old pigment remains; no modern filling or re‑gilding has been executed. This monumental Buddhist bronze originates from an important private Asian religious‑art collection based in Bangkok, Thailand. The prior collector acquired this museum‑quality work from a reputable antique dealer during the late 1980s; it has remained preserved within this single‑family private estate for more than thirty‑five years and appears at public auction for the very first time.Description:This imposing Ming‑dynasty bronze Amitabha Buddha is cast in fine bronze with partial gilding. The Buddha sits in full lotus posture, hands forming the dhyana meditation mudra upon the lap. The face bears a tranquil, compassionate expression, framed by large pendulous earlobes; the cranial protuberance is covered by tightly coiled spiral hair curls. A carved swastika emblem adorns the chest. The layered robes are finely carved with continuous floral scroll patterns along all hems and borders. Skin‑flesh surfaces retain generous original gilding, contrasting beautifully against the deep dark patinated bronze of the outer garments. Works of this scale and fine casting quality represent high‑grade Buddhist devotional statuary of the Ming period. This is a substantial, well‑preserved representative specimen of Ming‑dynasty Chinese partial‑gilt bronze Buddhist sculpture.
