拍品描述

Dimensions:Width 10cm (3‑15/16in), Height 8cm (3‑5/32in), Weight 75gCondition & Provenance:This Neolithic Hongshan‑culture openwork river‑abraded jade ornament retains its ancient fragmented state, with broken edges on the left side; no modern repair, filling or re‑carving has been performed. Crafted from celadon‑green river‑abraded jade, the surface shows natural whitish crystalline speckles and earth‑buried russet‑brown patina accumulating along rims and fissures. Distinct ancient abrasive carving traces are visible within the open‑cut scroll‑form perforations and relief‑carved patterns. Original ancient polish remains across most of the surface, exhibiting typical burial‑induced weathering. This important Neolithic jade relic originates from a distinguished private collection in New York. It was collected in the early 1990s and has been preserved within the same private estate, now presented for public offering for the first time.Description:This fine Neolithic Hongshan‑culture jade ornament is carved from celadon‑green river‑abraded jade. The plaque adopts elaborate openwork hollow‑out technique, featuring swirling scroll‑shape motifs together with characteristic crest‑shaped projections along the upper edge. Smooth undulating relief lines interlock with irregular cut‑out voids, embodying the distinctive abstract aesthetic of Hongshan jade art. The stone bears natural mineral speckles and acquired earth‑buried patina from long‑term interment. Such openwork jade plaques represent high‑status ritual artifacts of Hongshan Neolithic culture. This surviving fragment is a genuine representative example of ancient Chinese pre‑historic river‑abraded jade craftsmanship.
