Acquired in 2011, family inheritance under climate‑controlled storage, never appeared in public auction or museum exhibition. Description：This is an imperial Doucai covered “Tian” jar from Chenghua reign Ming dynasty, a rare palace storage vessel. Short straight mouth, full shoulder, bulging belly tapering toward foot‑ring, complete with original lid, presenting a full and solid silhouette. Lid surface painted with underglaze‑blue scrolling vines, bordered by yellow enamel lines. Neck and lower body are framed by underglaze‑blue lotus‑petal bands. Main exterior is decorated in Doucai technique with continuous interlocking‑lotus and Eight Buddhist Treasures. Outlines are drawn in underglaze‑blue; large lotus blooms rendered in blue, scrolling foliage in green enamel, and symbolic treasures including wheel, umbrella, vase, twin‑fish, endless‑knot filled with yellow enamel. Patterns circulate harmoniously across the surface. Underglaze‑blue tone is soft and tranquil, enamel fills neat and gentle‑toned, characteristic of Chenghua imperial aesthetic. Base bears single underglaze‑blue character “Tian”. “Tian” jars are iconic rare Chenghua wares. This well‑preserved lidded example with complete symbolic motif represents top‑tier Ming Doucai art, carrying great historical and collectible significance.
