Description:This Yuan‑dynasty blue‑and‑white plate features elegant foliate petal‑shaped rim with undulating edges, shallow cavity and flat unglazed base retaining distinct linen mat‑burn impressions typical of Yuan firing technique. Central interior is painted with Three Friends of Winter theme: gnarled plum branches with full layered blossoms, sturdy bamboo sprigs with well‑arranged leaves and chrysanthemum sprigs with rounded blooms arranged in a circular ring around reserved central space, presenting an open and refined composition. Cobalt pigment carries natural dark iron speckles characteristic of Yuan imported cobalt, rendered in free, spontaneous brushwork. The whole piece is covered with soft bluish‑white glaze with subtle authentic wear traces. Dry coarse sandy base perfectly shows original Yuan‑period manufacturing feature. Surviving intact foliate‑rim blue‑and‑white plates of this era are uncommon, serving as a fine representative example of Yuan folk‑produced blue‑and‑white porcelain.
