拍品描述

Dimensions:H.7.4 cm (2‑7/8 in), Diam.13.5 cm (5‑5/16 in) Condition & Provenance:Both bowls survive as an intact pair. Gilding on rim shows minor age‑related wear over time. The glaze of two bowls remains smooth and lustrous, enamel colors are well‑preserved, blue‑and‑white reign marks are clearly legible. No hairline cracks or hidden fractures, no chips on rim and foot ring, no restoration or retouching, no chemical cleaning. Formerly from private collection of Arthur M. Collins, Princeton, New Jersey, U.S.A. The pair was purchased from a Hong Kong antique gallery in the 1970s and passed down within the family. It has never appeared in public auctions and bears no exhibition or publication records. Description:This matching pair of Guangxu official‑ware bowls features flared opening, sloping curved wall and shallow ring foot. The rim is gilded, while interior is plain white. Exterior is covered with soft pink ground divided by multiple gilded string lines into three decorative registers. The upper register is painted with scrolling western lotus with graceful winding foliage in rich soft tones. The central main register displays gilded double‑happiness characters interspersed among scrolling floral scrolls. Gilded double‑happiness characters are formal and neat, intertwined scrolling stems support full layered blossoms rendered with delicate gradation in green, blue, purple and red hues. The lower register is decorated with scrolling treasure flowers. A band of painted upward lotus petals runs above foot, and exterior of foot ring is ornamented with blue‑and‑white key‑fret pattern. Inside base bears six‑character regular‑script mark “Da Qing Guang Xu Nian Zhi” within double blue circles. Double‑happiness pattern is classic imperial wedding‑themed decoration of late Qing court. Preserved as original matching pair with well‑kept enamels and gilding, they represent fine imperial wedding‑purpose porcelain from Guangxu reign.
