Dimensions：H.11 cm Condition & Provenance：Complete with original lid, no cracks or chips. Glossy glaze, well‑preserved falangcai enamels and intact sgraffito patterns, minor age‑related surface wear. Crisp under‑glaze‑blue seal‑mark at base, no chemical cleaning. Formerly private collection of Robert Hays, Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. Acquired in 1990s, family heirloom. Never appeared at public auction, no exhibition or publication records. Description：A fine Qianlong‑style imperial falangcai teapot for court use. Globular robust body with straight mouth, short neck and foot ring, fitted with curved spout and loop handle. Matching domed lid with pearl‑shaped finial, painted with iron‑red bats over sgraffito scroll ground symbolizing blessings. The exterior is covered in fine light‑green sgraffito scrollwork. Lobed cartouches on the belly enclose European‑style painting of a mother holding her child. Figures are delicately rendered with vivid costume tones, set within landscape featuring European‑style castles, foliage and cloud‑streaked sky, merging Chinese and western painting techniques. Spout and handle are decorated with blue‑enamel scroll patterns, neck and lower body framed by blue‑yellow geometric border bands. The base bears neat under‑glaze‑blue six‑character seal mark “Da Qing Qian Long Nian Zhi”. Falangcai porcelain with western subject is rare from Qianlong reign. This piece integrates sgraffito technique, cartouche design and European figural painting, representing Sino‑western cultural exchange in Qing court, possessing great artistic merit.
