The cup has flared mouth, gently curved tapering body and small neat foot, with exquisite thin white porcelain body. The exterior is covered with even soft turquoise‑green ground glaze. Painted in famille‑rose palette is the auspicious “magpie on plum blossom” theme. Gnarled old plum branches stretch across surface, blooming pink‑and‑white plum blossoms with detailed stamen dots. Two magpies perch upon branches, their feathers rendered in layered black, white and blue enamels, vivid and lifelike; one magpie calls upward while the other turns its head. Auxiliary colourful blossoms fill gaps of branches, with delicate brushwork and well‑balanced composition. Interior glazed white, base bears underglaze‑blue four‑character square seal mark “Yong Zheng Nian Zhi”. “Magpie on plum blossom” conveys the blessing of joyful arrival, a favoured Qing court motif. Yongzheng famille‑rose is celebrated for its elegance and fine painting. This teacup features gentle ground tone, sophisticated painting and rich colour gradation, representing high‑grade Yongzheng scholar‑studio porcelain.
