拍品描述
Dimensions: H. 25.5 cm (10 1/8 in), 14th Century, Yuan Dynasty Condition & Provenance: Condition: Fully intact, no cracks or restoration. Deeply toned underglaze‑red ground with characteristic firing diffusion, strong contrast against reserved raised‑relief motifs. Rectangular side aperture; coarse sandy base bears distinct Yuan‑period turning marks and deep accumulated patina. Provenance: Long‑established private collection, Hungary, Europe. Acquired 1953, consigned for auction by family estate in 2026. Description: A rare ceramic vessel modelled after a nomadic Mongolian yurt. Domed yurt‑shaped body with side opening. The surface features powerful relief‑carved five‑clawed dragons amid cloud scrolls reserved against rich underglaze‑red ground. The domed top is decorated in relief with twin cranes holding auspicious emblems. The red glaze exhibits natural firing variations and mottling consistent with Yuan underglaze‑red technology. Base shows typical Yuan sandy finish with wheel‑turning striations and granular inclusions. Yuan underglaze‑red wares were notoriously difficult to produce. Surviving yurt‑form examples are extremely scarce, mostly confined to museum collections, combining great technical rarity with important nomadic‑cultural historical significance.
