Description:This is a fine Langyao‑red apple‑form zun of Kangxi reign. It has small mouth, short neck, full rounded shoulders and plump apple‑shaped body tapering toward short foot‑ring. The exterior is entirely covered with Langyao‑red glaze, rich and lustrous, densely mottled with fine crimson speckles. Distinctive white “straw‑rim” appears along the lip, hallmark of Langyao‑red wares. Interior covered with white glaze. The red glaze drips down and stops neatly above foot‑ring, embodying the famous Langyao‑red feature “bare rim, hanging foot, glaze not flowing over foot”. Base bears apocryphal Xuande‑reign mark within double blue circles. Langyao‑red required extremely difficult firing with low survival rate. This small apple‑shaped vessel is a desirable scholar‑studio object highly valued among collectors.
