A Chinese kesi tapestry of the Nine‑Yang Winter Dispelling L. 310 cm. W. 120 cm. A Chinese kesi tapestry of the Nine‑Yang Winter Dispelling, measuring 310cm long, 120cm wide. This tall vertical kesi panel illustrates a detailed landscape scene with figures, deer, blossoming trees, winding streams and rock formations. An upper orange cartouche bears woven Chinese calligraphy. The pictorial field is enclosed by an elaborate repeating‑pattern border. Crafted in the fine kesi tapestry‑weaving technique, it uses a rich multi‑coloured thread palette. Creases and minor wear consistent with age and handling are visible across the large textile work.
