拍品描述
A CHINESE PAINTING OF PEACHES, SIGNED QI BAISHI Image only size 33 cm by 66 cm. Ink and colour on paper, hanging scroll, measuring 33 × 66 cm. Painted with ripe longevity‑peaches hanging amid dense dark‑green foliage, rendered in Qi Baishi’s bold, expressive brushwork. Inscribed, dated “Wuzhi, eighty‑eight years old”, signed Qi Baishi, and stamped with two artist’s seals. The subject of peaches symbolizes longevity and good fortune, a favoured auspicious motif in the artist’s later period. Vivid red‑yellow fruit contrasts sharply against forceful ink leaves, demonstrating his distinctive modern Chinese floral style.
