A Chinese Shoushan stone Buddha figure L. 16 cm. W. 13 cm. H. 23.5 cm. Weight 1600 grams. A Chinese Shoushan stone Buddha figure, measuring 16 cm long, 13 cm wide, 23.5 cm high, weight 1600 grams. Carved from pale creamy‑toned Shoushan stone with subtle rosy streaks, the Buddha sits in full lotus position, hands held in symbolic mudras. Fine painted gilded details embellish the robe, beaded ornaments and cranial ushnisha. The statue is mounted on an elaborate carved hardwood throne with flame‑form mandorla backplate and layered lotus base. Smooth stone finish complements rich wood carving, forming an elegant devotional Buddhist sculpture.
