A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer tripod censer L. 26 cm. W. 19 cm. H. 24 cm. Weight 1900 grams. A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer tripod censer, measuring 26cm long, 19cm wide, 24cm high, weighing 1900 grams. Modelled after ancient bronze ding form, this vessel stands on three robust carved legs, fitted with a domed cover and two upright flaring side handles. The entire surface is finely carved in tihong technique with archaic beast‑mask motifs, scrolling patterns and geometric key‑fret borders beneath vivid red lacquer. Crisp deep relief carvings dominate the body, lid and supports. Minor surface scuffs consistent with handling and storage appear across the lacquered exterior.
