拍品描述

Chinese Zitan Wood Scholar’s Brush Rest H. 9 cm. W. 16 cm. A finely carved brush rest crafted from dense zitan hardwood, shaped as gnarled twisting rock‑form openwork. The intricate carving incorporates mythical beast figures emerging amidst swirling hollowed branches, with deep undercuts creating layered negative space. The surface bears a smooth, lustrous dark patina from long‑term handling. It rests upon an integrated fitted base following the irregular contour of the carving. This imaginative literati‑style object is a fine example of Chinese scholar‑studio woodwork for Asian‑art collectors. Dimensions: Height 9 cm, Width 16 cm. A zitan brush rest with open‑work rock‑and‑beast carving.
