A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer ruyi L. 40 cm. W. 9.5 cm. Weight 330 grams. A Chinese carved cinnabar lacquer ruyi, measuring 40cm long, 9.5cm wide, weighing 330 grams. Executed in the tihong carving technique, this ceremonial sceptre is segmented into head, shaft and terminal, each panel deeply relief‑carved with scrolling foliage, auspicious emblems and figural scenes. The rich crimson lacquer showcases sharp, well‑defined carving work throughout its surface. Classic ruyi silhouette with scalloped head and squared terminal. Minor surface abrasions consistent with gentle handling and storage are visible across the lacquered exterior.
