Chinese Jade Mountain with Scholars

拍品描述

Chinese Jade Mountain with Scholars H. 31 cm. W. 11 cm. A Chinese nephrite jade mountain carved from pale white stone, depicting reclusive scholars amid a deep mountain landscape. Intricate relief and open‑work carvings render jagged rock faces, gnarled blossoming trees, rustic dwellings and serene figures nestled within craggy terrain. The jade boulder is presented on an ornate cloisonné‑enamel stand with gilt accents and floral scroll motifs. H. 31 cm, W. 11 cm. Fine detail throughout illustrates the classical Chinese ideal of mountain retreat.
