A Chinese cloisonné enamel covered box L. 12.5 cm. W. 12.5 cm. H. 6 cm. Weight 850 grams. A Chinese cloisonné enamel covered box, measuring 12.5cm long, 12.5cm wide, 6cm high, weight 850 grams. Of square form with softly rounded corners, the box is raised on four short gilt‑metal feet. The turquoise‑ground cloisonné surface is decorated with scrolling lotus and foliate motifs across the sides, while the lid centres upon an auspicious symbol surrounded by scattered floral sprigs. Gilt‑metal trim frames the lid, body and base, with fine wire‑cloison work separating the vibrant multi‑hued enamel palette.
