A Chinese kesi silk “Great Auspicious” gourd panel L. 169 cm. W. 100 cm. A Chinese kesi silk “Great Auspicious” gourd panel, measuring 169cm long, 100cm wide. Woven against a deep indigo‑blue ground, a large double‑gourd vase bears the woven characters “Da Ji”, filled with luxuriant peony blossoms. At the base, playful figures emerge amid rolling ocean waves. The textile is bordered by an ornate patterned frame with repeated auspicious motifs. Fine kesi tapestry technique renders floral details, robe patterns and foaming water. Visible fold creases and minor surface wear are present, consistent with long‑term preservation of this symbolic decorative textile.
