A Chinese Blue and White Floral Handled Ewer L. 15 cm. W. 13 cm. H. 14 cm. Weight 790 grams. This globular-bodied porcelain ewer is covered in smooth milky white glaze, richly decorated with saturated underglaze cobalt blue patterns. The bulbous main body features winding vine scrolls interspersed with palm frond foliage and delicate floral blooms, rendered with fluid layered brushwork. Separating bands of classic geometric ornament encircle the shoulder and neck, including key-fret motifs and vertical petal lappets. The curved side handle is moulded with a stylized dragon head terminal at the shoulder, terminating in a leaf-shaped spout base, all unified by consistent deep blue pigment and crisp outlined detailing.
