A Chinese gilt‑bronze Tibetan gau reliquary locket L. 6 cm. W. 5.5 cm. Weight 60 grams. A Chinese gilt‑bronze Tibetan gau reliquary locket, measuring 6cm long, 5.5cm wide, weight 60 grams. Of characteristic arched‑top form, the hinged locket is fitted with dual loop attachments on either side for suspension. Its front face features a central embossed symbolic vase within a recessed niche, surrounded by densely carved scrolling foliate and bead‑border ornamentation. Fine relief detailing covers the entire gilt surface. This portable devotional container is crafted to hold sacred relics, prayers or amulets following traditional Tibetan Buddhist practice.
