A Chinese gilt‑bronze equestrian protective deity L. 16 cm. W. 7 cm. H. 18.5 cm. Weight 1450 grams. A Chinese gilt‑bronze equestrian protective deity, measuring 16cm long, 7cm wide, 18.5cm high, weight 1450 grams. The wrathful deity is seated atop a striding horse, adorned with elaborate ornaments inset with turquoise‑coloured cabochons, wearing an ornate headdress and flowing scarves. Both deity and horse rest upon a rocky base richly carved with scrolling wave motifs. Fine cast details define facial expression, jewellery and equine harness. The surface bears warm gilded patina with minor traces of original polychrome remnants.
