Chinese Zitan Wood Circular Covered Box

拍品描述

Chinese Zitan Wood Circular Covered Box 12x18 cm. A substantial circular zitan wood box comprising base and domed cover, fitted with neatly‑worked overlapping rim. The entire exterior is richly carved in deep relief: the cover centre bears an auspicious motif encircled by scrolling cloud‑like foliage, while the body combines archaic kui‑dragon patterns and winding floral scrolls. Deep dark patina develops over the polished hardwood surface from age and handling. This well‑proportioned container served as a fine scholar‑studio receptacle for precious objects. Dimensions: Height 12 cm, Diameter 18 cm. A heavily carved zitan wood circular covered box with scrolling and archaic‑style relief decoration.
