Chinese Pewter Figural Tea Caddy L. 19 cm. W. 19 cm. H. 22 cm. A large lidded pewter tea caddy with three loop handles upon its shoulder. The bulbous body is finely engraved with a continuous narrative scene of robed scholarly figures set among bamboo groves. The domed cover bears subtle decorative engraving, and the surface retains a smooth dark metallic patina. Crisp linework defines the figures, plants and compositional details across the vessel.
