文案(英):Qiu Ying, one of the Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty alongside Shen Zhou, Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin, was born to a lacquer artisan family and later trained under Zhou Chen. He excelled in blue-and-green landscapes and figure painting, celebrated for meticulous craftsmanship and elegant grace. Rendered in ink and colour on silk, this work depicts pavilions and terraces tucked into rosy mountain ridges amid drifting clouds, with layered distant peaks and foreground waters creating clear depth. It carries forward the Song imperial academy blue-and-green tradition while integrating literati painting sensibilities. The pavilion motif traces back to ancient Chinese garden culture, reflecting the literati ideal of seclusion and scenic appreciation. A Blue-and-Green Landscape with Pavilions in Rosy Hills_Qiu Ying, Ming Dynasty Qiu Ying, one of the Four Masters of the Ming Dynasty alongside Shen Zhou, Wen Zhengming and Tang Yin, was born to a lacquer artisan family and later trained under Zhou Chen.
