AN ABSOLUTELY PERFECT PAIR OF DOUCAI ‘LOTUS’ DISHES, YONGZHENG MARKS AND OF THE PERIOD China, 1723-1735. Each superbly potted with gently rounded sides rising from a short foot, the interior finely decorated with a central medallion enclosing a stylized lotus bloom in vibrant iron red surrounded by a crown of foliage formed by interlocking fern-green ruyi-heads, all within double-line borders, the exterior delicately painted with three lotus flowers interspersed with elaborate floral strapwork. The recessed bases each with an underglaze-blue six-character mark da Qing Yongzheng nianzhi within a double circle and of the period.
