An early 20th century Chinese blue and white porcelain plaque, Republic period, painted in vibrant tones of underglaze blue with a classic composition of two horses within a rocky, mountainous landscape, one depicted standing and gazing backwards and it's piebald companion in a playful posture, 30 cm wide x 42 cm high  The surface shows light superficial scuffs and pitting and framing marks, some nibbles around the raised borders and a raised firing blister to the right hand side, the reverse is unglazed with typical staining, crosshatched texture
