A Large Burmese Gilt Lacquered Wood Figure of Buddha 19th century, Mandalay style, red lacquer with gilt scrollwork inset with colored glass, the carved oval face with downcast painted eyes, arched brows, and long earlobes, a domed ushnisha knot at top of head, the figure in a gently swaying pose, both hands drawing the hem of the monastic robe across the body, the robe hems, shoulder sash, and wristbands are all very finely detailed and feature color glass inlay, the Buddha stands atop a lotus base raised on a later square wood stand.
