He served as professor and vice president at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Renowned for landscape painting, he merged plein-air realism with traditional brushwork, forging a powerful, vigorous style known as the “Li-style landscape”. This eight-leaf landscape album features varied scenes with deep, layered mountains and valleys, rendered with rich, moist texture, combining the pioneering spirit of the Lingnan School with the poetic charm of traditional literati landscape.
