A Chinese Apricot Ground Embroidered Silk 'Scholar's Achievement' Panel, Suzhou, 18th/19th Century 清中期 杏子地綉庭院行樂圖鏡框一幅 The rectangular panel embroidered to depict a scholar riding a dragon emerging from waves, approaching the female immortal Xiwangmu and her attendant, all surrounded by peaches, lingzhi fungus, and flowering trees; framed and glazed. Sight 28 x 18 in., 71 x 45.5 cm. This lot is located in Philadelphia. Some muting of colors, bleeding/smudging of blacks; some losses to embroidered threads, not removed from frame for further examination; wear and chipping to frame.
