CIRCLE OF BARTOLOMÉ ESTEBAN MURILLO (1618-1682) The Madonna and Child oil on canvas, 102cm x 77cm, in a prominent giltwood frame carved with rocaille work Probably acquired by Richard Browne Esq. in the early 19th century (later the name changes to Knox-Browns). Acquired at the auction of the contents of Aughentaine Castle, Co. Tyrone, in 1955 by a member of the vendor's family and thence by descent; Private Collection, Devon. "Pictures from Ulster Houses", 10th May 1961 - 15th July 1961, no. 154, as "Spanish School, late 17th century".
