Japy Frères a substantial French black marble late-Victorian mantel clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours and half-hours on a gong with the backplate stamped with the horseshoe trademark for Japy Frères Paris, and numbered 96453, the brass dial with white chapter ring having black Arabic numerals and gilt-brass hands, the shaped marble case having four fluted columns to each side and surmounted by three matching copula's, height 35cm.
