A French mid-Victorian walnut mantel clock the eight-day duration movement having a silk-suspension and striking the hours and half-hours on a bell with an outside countwheel, with the backplate stamped G.D. 148, the gilt-brass dial having black Roman numerals, and indistinctly signed to the engine-turned dial centre, with blued-steel moon hands, the burr walnut dome-topped case having boxwood stringing, height 33cm.
