Pre-Columbian, Colombia or Ecuador, ca. 300 BCE – 500 CE. A standing pottery figure, hand modeled in a gray clay, the ovoid head with applied coil ear piercings and modeled brow, nose, and mouth. The body wears a collar with pendent ornament, hands held before the chest, with a banded waist wrap and ridged anklets above splayed feet. Pierced at the crown and at the groin, perhaps once used as a whistle. Size: 6.5" H x 3.75" W x 1.75" D (16.5 cm H x 9.5 cm W x 4.4 cm D).
