George Clarkson Stanfield (1828-1878) "Beilstein an der Mosel," 1862 Oil on canvas Signed and dated lower left: George C. Stanfield / 1862 20 3/8 x 30 3/8 in. Blacklight: There are two areas of touch-up in the sky, upper right quadrant (2 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches) and upper left quadrant (2 x 2 inches) corresponding with the abovementioned patches. Other larger areas of touch-up in the sky along the left and right edges. Other smaller spots, lines, and dots of touch-up scattered throughout the sky and along the upper edge. Lesser areas of touch-up in the lower half, consisting of dots, lines, and spots, mainly relegated to the lower edge. Frame: 28 1/2 x 38 1/2 x 3 in.
