18th/19th Century Continental School A horse in a stable Oil on canvas Unsigned 20 x 26 in. Other Notes: The painting is stamped T. Brown with a London address in ink, verso, likely the canvas maker. Blacklight: A 2 x 1 inch repaired tear in the neck of the horse with a corresponding patch verso (3 x 2 in.). Other smaller dots and dashes of touch-up within the horse, mainly within the tail, legs, and underbelly, as well as in the lower background. The canvas was unevenly cleaned and is a bit hard to read under blacklight. There may be larger areas touch-up, especially in the upper right quadrant. Frame: 28 5/8 x 32 5/8 x 2 1/2 in.
