ELISIAN FOREST Watercolor on paper 20 x 28 in. (sight) Depicting wild white horses grazing among trees, identified by label on verso h. 30 x w. 38 in. (frame) In 1943, Helder's career reached a high point when her works were included in "Americans 1943: Realists and Magic-Realists", a major exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. A dozen of her paintings were hung alongside works by John James Audubon, Winslow Homer, Edward Hopper, Charles Sheeler, and Andrew Wyeth. Inventory Code: 9BA-233
