A fine Chinese blue and white 'Peony' Hu vase, paired with dragon handles, late 18thC / begin 19thC, H 53 cm A fine Chinese blue and white 'Peony' vase, of archaistic hu form, decorated with multi-design bands, including stylised stiff leaves, key-fret meander, reverse decorated stylised phoenixes amongst flower blossoms, dotted honeycomb pattern, and crashing waves, the shoulder encircled by a band of ruyi-heads, the body finely painted with luxuriant sprays of peony issuing from leafy branches, above a further meander band at the foot, paired with dragon handles, late 18thC/ begin 19thC, H 53 cm
