Six Illustrated Manuscript Pages Gouache and gold on paper h. 17 x w. 24.5 in., each frame Six individual leaves arranged in three framed pairs featuring narrative scenes of hunting, battle, and enthronement. The illustrations are executed in a vibrant palette with gold leaf highlights and are surrounded by calligraphic script in the margins. Each pair is set within a black mat and a gilded wooden frame. These pages appear to be from a 19th-century provincial Indian manuscript, likely a copy of the Shahnameh or a similar epic text. The style of the figures and the grid-like composition of the smaller vignettes are characteristic of Kashmiri production from this period. The script is Nastaliq, used for Persian and Urdu. h. 17 x w. 24.5 in. (each frame) Inventory Code: 38-1
