(stretcher) Signed and dated 1961 lower right, in a frame bearing artist's plaque and title Large format painting (5.8 ft x 8.4 ft overall in frame) h. 69.5 x w. 100.5 in. (overall with frame) Pitigliani was a female artist and illustrator who was a student of Roberto Melli (1885-1958) and transplant to the USA. Her mastery of color and gradients translated into a pseudorealistic view that captured the light, character, and grit of New York City in the 1970s &1980's. Over her career she was commissioned to create posters and promotional materials for NYC, Boston, Venice, and Rome, among others. Inventory Code: 1CA-34
